The Joy of Salvation

Why Christmas brings joy to Christians and the world.  There are at least 3 reasons.  What are they?  And how can I maintain the joy of Christmas throughout the year?  

1.   Christians are joyful because they have the greatest possession.

1. Joy in the presence of the Saviour: Elizabeth, John and Mary (1:41-47)

2. The angels, the wisemen, the shepherd rejoicing.

3. The joy of salvation (Psalm 51:12)

4. Christmas is about the Saviour and Salvation.

5. The greatest possession is Salvation and Christ Himself.

2.   Christians are joyful because they have the ultimate victory.

1. God gave victory to the seemingly defeated in the world (1:51-53).

2. The ultimate victory is from death to life (1Co 15:54-55).

3. Christmas is about Christ the Saviour who brings life and conquers death.

3.   Christians are joyful because they have the surest hope.

1. What God promised He will fulfill (1:45).

2. God always remembers those who love Him and honor Him (1:55).

3. Christmas is about Christ who brings Good Tidings: Salvation to those who believe (Psalm 96:2).
