Cling to God

Scripture: Joshua 23:1-16

1.      Hold fast to the Lord because of the present danger.

a.       The danger of life’s struggles. (Josh 23:3)

b.      The danger of following after other gods. (Josh 23:16)

c.       The danger of merging with secular culture. (Josh 23:12)

2.      Follow hard after God because He is the worthy cause.

a.       He is the true God (Jer 10:10).

b.      He deserves to be worshiped (Rev 4 & 5).

3.      Abide in God because He is the source of our strength.

John 15:5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Php 4:13  I can do everything through him who gives me strength.  

4.      Cling to the Lord because He is good to you.

Isa 49:15 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast

and have no compassion on the child she has borne?

Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

5.      Cling to God by strictly following His instructions

Jos 23:6 "Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left.

1.      Naém chaët laáy Chuùa tröôùc nhöõng hieãm hoïa trong hieän taïi.

a.      Hieãm hoïa cuûa söï tranh chieán trong cuoäc ñôøi (Gioâ 23:3)

b.      Hieãm hoïa cuûa caùm doã theo caùc thaàn khaùc. (G 23:16)

c.      Hieãm hoïa cuûa söï hoaø hieäp vôùi vaên hoaù voâ thaàn. (G 23:12)

2.      Theo Chuùa raùo rieát vì Ngaøi laø muïc tieâu chính ñaùng.

a.      Ngaøi laø Chaân Thaàn (Gieâreâmi 10:10)

b.      Ngaøi phaûi ñöôïc toân thôø (Khaûi 4 & 5)

3.      Gaén boù trong Chuùa vì Ngaøi laø nguoàn söùc cuûa chuùng ta.

Giaêng  15:5 Ta laø goác nho, caùc ngöôi laø nhaùnh. Ai cöù ôû trong ta vaø ta trong hoï thì sinh ra laém traùi; vì ngoaøi ta, caùc ngöôi chaúng laøm chi ñöôïc.

Philíp 4:13 Toâi laøm ñöôïc moïi söï nhôø ñaáng ban theâm söùc cho toâi.

4.      Tríu meán Chuùa vì Ngaøi laø söï toát laønh cho chuùng ta.

EÂ sai 49:15 ñôøn baø haù deã queân con mình cho buù, khoâng thöông ñeán con trai ruoät mình sao? Daàu ñôøn baø queân con mình, ta cuõng chaúng queân ngöôi.

5.      Tríu meán Chuùa baèng caùch theo ñuùng maïnh leänh cuûa Chuùa truyeàn.

Gioâ sueâ 23:6 Vaäy, haõy vöõng loøng gìn giöõ laøm theo moïi ñieàu ñaõ ghi trong saùch luaät phaùp cuûa Moâi-se, chôù xaây qua beân höõu hoaëc beân taû.
