The New Owner

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1.      People who continue to yield to sin will be enslaved to its addiction and will ultimately taste death. (6:21)

a.       Sin is a harsh master-owner: Those who obey the voice of sin will be enslaved to all kinds of addiction: Drug, alcohol, smoking, sexual immorality, pornography, gambling, gossip, greed for money, fame, etc. (6:16, 19)

b.       Those who are enslaved to sin will continue to escalate to an ever worsen state and will eventually taste physical, emotional and spiritual death.  (6:23)

2.      The hope of freedom for those who are enslaved to sin is to deeply submit to the Word of God. (6:17-18)

Rom 6:17-18 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

3.      The result of obeying the new master-owner, God and His Word, is the life of freedom, fulfilment and eternal. (6:22-23)

Rom 6:22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Roâma 6:23 Vì tieàn coâng cuûa toäi loãi laø söï cheát; nhöng söï ban cho cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi laø söï soáng ñôøi ñôøi trong Ñöùc Chuùa Jeâsus Christ, Chuùa chuùng ta.

1.      Ngöôøi vaâng phuïc theo toäi loãi seõ bò noâ leä cho nhöõng raøng buoäc nghieän ngaäp cuûa toäi loãi vaø cuoái cuøng seõ neám traûi söï cheát (6:21).

a.      Toäi loãi laø ngöôøi chuû khaéc nghieät. Ngöôøi vaâng phuïc theo tieáng goïi cuûa toäi loãi  seõ bò noâ leä döôùi nhieàu hình thöùc nghieän ngaäp: thuoác meâ, ma tuùy, nghieän röôïu, nghieän thuoác laù, taø daâm, côø baïc, noùi haønh, tham lam tieàn baïc, danh voïng v.v (6:16, 19)

b.      Ngöôøi soáng noâ leä trong toäi loãi seõ caøng luùn saâu vaøo con ñöôøng toái taêm vaø cuoái cuøng seõ neám traûi söï cheát cuûa theå xaùc, taâm hoàn vaø taâm linh (6:23)

2.      Nieàm hy voïng ñöôïc töï do cho ngöôøi soáng trong noâ leä cuûa toäi  loãi laø vaâng phuïc troïn veïn döôùi quyeàn naêng cuûa Lôøi  Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi.

Roâma 6:17 . . . thì ñaõ töø loøng vaâng phuïc ñaïo lyù laø söï ñaõ ban laøm möïc thöôùc cho mình. Vaäy, anh em ñaõ ñöôïc buoâng tha khoûi toäi loãi, trôû neân toâi moïi cuûa söï coâng bình roài.

3.      Keát quaû cuûa söï vaâng phuïc theo ngöôøi chuû môùi laø moät cuoäc soáng töï do, ñaày troïn vaø söï soáng ñôøi ñôøi.

Roâma 6:22 Nhöng baây giôø ñaõ ñöôïc buoâng tha khoûi toäi loãi vaø trôû neân toâi moïi cuûa Ñöùc Chuùa Trôøi roài, thì anh em ñöôïc laáy söï neân thaùnh laøm keát quaû, vaø söï soáng ñôøi ñôøi laøm cuoái cuøng.
